Negative Spaces - Interesting Take on Building

So a few weeks or so ago, I saw on the Minecraft Forums there was this really interesting guide on building. So I had a look and it takes a different perspective on building.

An interesting guide. What are your thoughts?

It defiantly is an interesting approach. However, it required either one of two things:

• You already have a good idea of what it is you are building on a larger scale than the building you are on at that moment (something I never have personally)
• Your mind works well with procedural design (something I believe is not all that common in people),

What I have done in the past to achieve a similar effect is what I personally deem evolutionary building. I start out with just a simple house that barely meets survival play needs, and then build off of it as I progress. Over time as you add and remove walls, change aesthetics, and branch out to other builds you end up with something very different. I wish I still had my original survival world to show what I mean.

The guide was called Negative Spaces. I was just transfering that name.
