I was thinking there should also be an off topic section for everything and anything that doesn't fit into the current categories. Even tho the current sections pretty much include everything a person needs to talk about, there are still some things that could be posted in Off Topic.
Ex:
Interesting non-gaming-related websites, things that shouldn't be posted in public such as the "Online Piracy - In Minecraft and General" I posted, etc.

I like this idea but there are some flaws:

1.) we already have a section labelled off-topic
2.) if you expand too much some people will post things that aren't... good for lack of a better word. While places like reddit are good there is no basline rule set for what stays and what goes there, there isn't really one here either.

perhaps with some guidance or a forum rule set that'd be a good idea

1.) We could have the section labeled 'Truly Random'.
2.) Maybe, but then it would just fall to the bottom of the list, while the good stuff would resurface. We've got a mature community, and there's no rule saying you look at everything. Plus, if it does become bad, there's always the option of revoking the section.

There is no section called Off-topic, there's just a label that you can put on your thread saying "Off-Topic". Even tho this is a replacement for the section, I still think having an Off Topic section would be much better.
And There's no reason to worry about the section getting flooded with useless stuff and spam. As Forgot said, the majority of people who post on these forums are mature enough to not post things like that.

Additionally, unless xenforo doesn't include the setting, a forum section can be set to not increase your post count. Most forum spam that isn't advertising arises as a result of people trying to raise their post count.

This is possible. Decide on what forum you would all like to be added and I shall add it. However I want to keep it minimal as possible having several different forums can get confusing for new comers.
