Zero had been fading. It warred and sabotaged itself so many times people had lost count of how many times they had been betrayed. It had been destroyed so many times, it has corrupted those who cared most. Now, they seek retribution for the damage that has been done to their beloved world. However, some believe the accused are just as guilty for bringing this world down as those who lay claim against them. Filled with the spirit of vengeance, they continue the slaughter.

Welcome to MINR MAFIA XIX: RETRIBUTION

A lot of blood is going to be spilt.

STANDARD RULES:
Play within the spirit of the game.
Please be active to the best of your ability.
Play to win, whether this is for yourself or for your team. Don't go self-sacrificing unless you think it will actually benefit your Faction somehow.
Dead players or non-participants may not communicate within the thread.
Do not take anything personally here. It's a game that involves lots of manipulation and lying.
You may ask non-participants for advice, but realise they do not have to give an honest answer.
You may not quote, screenshot or copy any mod communications. Paraphrasing is allowed.
Have fun! It is a game.
It was never just a game...

SPECIAL RULES:
Talking outside the thread is disallowed, except in mod-sanctioned locations. Loose lips sink ships...
This game uses forced plurality lynches. This means whoever has the highest votes at the end of the day will be lynched.
No-Lynch is not allowed.
Ties are broken by the player who reached the highest threshold first.
If nobody votes anyone throughout the day, a random player will be lynched.

INFORMATION:
There are two factions, the Innocents and the Mafia. Are they truly innocent...?
There are also some Independents, who are bound to neither faction.
Role names and alignments are revealed upon death.
Use #VOTE <player> to indicate who you wish to vote, preferably in bold.
#UNVOTEs are appreciated but not required.
Day Phases will last 3 real-life days and Night Phases will last 2 real-life days. These values may be changed throughout the game if necessary.
There are probably 3
Mafia. Since when did the criminals fill out the census...?

As day broke, players began to rise. They knew what they had to do.
They could feel the passion burning within, as it was finally time to bring down retribution on the guilty.
No longer would they escape. There was no backing out of it now.
They gathered, ready to execute justice.

Hi.

So it's important that we all check in regularly on this, at least while we're available/have access to the game, and try to post things even if you don't think you have a lot of new content to contribute. Multiple rounds of this have quietly gone into an easy scum win because people no-lynched all the time (not a problem in this setup) and just basically lurked through the day without sharing their thoughts or trying to progress the game. We only have 3 days and then someone has to die, so let's make the most of it.

If no one is acting scummy (suspicious) by the end, I'd lynch primarily out of people who are active lurking i.e. clearly have access to the thread and are posting but aren't actually providing content. This may not be as much of an indicator here as on other sites because of the general activity standards here, but it weeds out players who are more or less deadweight if there aren't any better options.

Let's get this moving

Also, if the deadline is coming and someone is clearly about to be lynched, they should claim their exact role so that we can decide whether or not to go through with the lynch. It's almost always better to hold off if they have an easily provable role, although be careful of mafia players taking advantage of this around the end of the game.

I agree with this.

I may or may not be able to always reply to the thread due to work hours, but will make it a point to contribute when I notice things

Well this is going to be an awkward first Day, uh...
Who wants to be lynched first? ;)
It actually makes for better gameplay IMO, since it forces us to do things under the idea that someone is going to die no matter what.

This may be a lost cause right now, but does anyone have something to share? First impressions, possible strategies, etc. Every game has to start somewhere.

Some notes from my end:

-Z3's post agreeing with my entrance and question 10 minutes later of how long the day is implies that he might not actually be reading that closely? I made it a point that we had to make a decision in 3 days.

-bstrey's question to Creepa is probably more likely to come from an innocent than scum. Otherwise she'd have access to the mafia PT and likely wouldn't have as much incentive to ask that question.

Null vibes from everyone outside of that. Not too surprising for early Day 1.
