All passengers have confirmed. Day 1 will begin tomorrow, likely slightly earlier than scheduled.

As requested, all passengers have been granted avatars. We hope you are pleased with them.

Additionally, a passenger list has been added to the initial post.

I am very pleased with the avatars, it helps tell people apart a bit better. Not to sound picky or cause any problems, but is there a reason mine is Doc Brown from Back to the Future? XD

Edit: Not to sound ungrateful at all. Meant nothing by it.

The wind was howling. Rain thundered against the sides of the train. And this high up in the mountains, it was cold. Ratchett was huddled in bed, in a spare cabin he had acquired a few hours earlier. He was afraid. He had spent the last several days running - they thought he was it. He wasn't, but there was no convincing them. They almost had him, but at the last minute, he managed to jump aboard a departing train. He was aware that the train staff might not let him on, but he didn't have any choice. His life was at stake.

It didn't make a difference in the end. They were here too, somehow. He could feel them staring, boring holes into the back of his head and his mind. They thought he had the ability-. They were wrong, but there was no stopping them. He rolled over, the rain continuing to pound. He just hoped that they would find whomever they were looking for before they got to him. As he drifted off to sleep, his door creaked open...

(Dr.) Frankenstein was restless. He had never been a great sleeper, and the rain was keeping him awake. He hung out in the lounge carriage, reading a book by candlelight. He didn't want to disturb anyone else. He closed the book and stood up to stretch, only to be thrown off his feet as the train suddenly stopped. It felt that they'd rammed something. He peered out the window, but in the early hours of the morning it was still pitch black - he couldn't see anything. He wasn't fazed though, he wasn't in a hurry and he was sure someone would handle the situation. He sat back down and continued reading his book.

As dawn cracked, the train began to stir. The morning light illuminated the current situation. Overnight, the train had run into a very large snowfall and has buried the front of itself within. The train was stuck, and everybody on board - stranded. Some began to panic. Ford Prefect had places to be, and couldn't afford to be held up. A guidebook doesn't write itself, and he was getting paid by the letter. Others were furious. Lord Boreal shouted at the Conductor for several minutes about the unacceptability for the situation. The Conductor's only response was to smile.

It wasn't long before something much, much worse was discovered. Ratchett had made an impression on Victor. His last minute jump followed by immediate seclusion made Victor curious. He didn't appear with the others who were inspecting the others outside. Victor went to the cabin he had seen Ratchett enter the previous day and knocked. After no response, he noticed his door was slightly ajar. He pushed it open.

Lystacrl carried the body out of the room using a sheet. Nobody envied that job. The way that he had been mutilated was... creative to say the least. Ratchett's assassins had made very clear - that the mafia had picked their train. Reports had surfaced of entire trains being slaughtered to the man. Fear spread quickly. Nobody wanted to be the next. It was clear that this fear would bubble over, and people would lash out, desperate to defend themselves. Someone was going to die today.

--- A REMINDER ---

You must lynch someone today. If you don't, someone will be killed at random.
You may vote for a player to die using #vote <name>. You may also #unvote. You may not vote for no lynch.
You have 72 hours. The day phase ends at 4:00 am 2019/01/24 UTC.
Whoever has the most votes at the end of the phase will be lynched. If there is a tie, whoever reached the highest threshold first will die.
You may only communicate on the forums for now.

Innocents, there is no silver bullet that will win you the game on its own. Knowledge is power. Be proactive, not passive.

CLARIFICATION: Nobody has died, except Ratchett. Ratchett isn't a player.

--- END OF NOTICE ---

You're a mad scientist. Also didn't want too many greyscale avatars.

Good Morning. So sorry to hear what happened to Mr. Ratchett, but may I ask what is being done with the body? Just out of curiousness, of course.

There is something at work in my soul, which I do not understand.

Alright, let's try to get past the fluff.

We're forced to lynch someone today. We have a little over 2 days left to do it. If we can't get any good enough reads by then, we should focus on the people who aren't posting.

Well there's not really a right/best choice here. We either vote for nobody and have the possibility of RNG death hanging over all of our heads, or throw someone completely arbitrary under the bus—someone who is very likely innocent. We know just about nothing as of right now, so the odds of us killing a mafia member today are about the same as the random kill doing so.
So which should we do: random death or arbitrary lynch? I don't think either one is better than the other right now, as both have about the same odds of nailing a mafia member.

As Mrs. Coulter said, we should definitely try to find something incriminating today.
