Hello. This message is mainly aimed toward staff.

My username is 072700ksc. You might not know me, but I was an member of the server along time ago. I recently found the ip, and rejoined. It seems I can't do the hardcore maps, even though I am blue. I got blue back when it was only 5 points to get it/each map was 1 point each. I believe I was on hc2 level, but I got stuck in it due to the lava maze. I heard it was removed, and I wanted to get back into HC maps and (hopefully) get green. Would an staff member be able to fix this issue for me? I was told to ask. Thanks.
(If you want to see that my rank is actually blue, I can provide proof/meet you on the server.)

The procedure is usually to allow past blues from before point requirement changes access to HC, but I'll let @Ajdj or @yeroc424 handle this since they are the map system ops.

I was going to opt for changing his points around so that they matched the current value, but every map he did before the mutli-point system is still worth one point. Considering the intent of redesigning it was to prevent people like him (no offense intended) to rush easy maps and run into HC, I opt towards leaving his points how they are.

Lunk/072700ksc,
There is an easy 5-point quiz on the basic rules of the server, that will take you up to 11.
From there it shouldn't be too hard to complete 2-3 more maps and get 9 more points.

Hope that helps!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to undermine you, but could you pick this up/discuss this with Yeroc, please?

There seems to be some inconsistency in this regard.
Another blue (forgot the name) logged on last week for the first time in years, he was from the 5 HC era, as well -
Yeroc then proceeded to bump that person up to 20 points (his reasoning for this being that back in the day,
it was much harder to actually gain the points, and having fulfilled the requirement in the past was
equivalent to how hard it would be to get 20 points nowadays.)

Grave, I'm gonna let Aj do what he wants to do. Yes, it is normally my policy to bump a 5-14 point blue up to 15 and let them do the quiz, but if Aj had a valid reason not to do this, them let him use his approach.

In fact, I suppose it would be more consistent to actually convert the point values and bump them to that. I bumped blues to 15 before I had a good spreadsheet of maps, and I just kept up this lazy method so it would be easier for me.

However, Aj, I want to have a discussion about this when I get back from camping. I believe that if they are once a blue, they should stay a blue, even if they didn't meet today's standards. We don't demote clean players, and we don't make some of the oldest of greens do more HC maps to retain their color. Just think about this, and we will talk soon.

Alrighty, my apologies for 'interfering', I thought consistency would be good. AJ, wasn't meant to tell you off, either way!

After discussing, we'll be bumping you up to 15 points.

We agree that all old blues will be bumped to 15, and they will be urged to do the FAQ quiz for the last 5 points.

Alternatively they could do Aqueous for 5 points, but then again

who wants that?
